These Terms of Use apply to everyone who uses albertaduilawyers.com (the “site”), including visitors and the lawyers and law firms listed in our directory. The site is operated by Alberta DUI Lawyers, a business registered in Michigan, USA (“we”, “us”). By using the site you agree to these terms.

1. What this site is

Alberta DUI Lawyers is a directory of lawyers who defend impaired driving charges in Alberta, with plain-language guides about DUI charges, licence suspensions and the court process. The site provides general information only. It is not legal advice, and using the site or contacting a lawyer through it does not create a lawyer-client relationship with us or with any listed lawyer. Please read our Disclaimer.

2. Using the site

  • Use the site only for lawful purposes.
  • Do not copy, scrape or republish the directory or our articles without written permission.
  • Do not submit false information, impersonate a lawyer or firm, or send spam through our forms.
  • Do not try to interfere with the security or operation of the site.

3. Lawyer listings

Listings are first prepared from public information, such as a firm’s own website and the Law Society of Alberta directory. A firm may claim its listing, correct it, or ask us to remove it at any time by contacting info@albertaduilawyers.com. We verify every claim with the firm before handing over control of a listing.

Once a firm claims a listing, the firm is responsible for keeping its information accurate and for making sure its content follows the marketing rules of its law society. We may edit or remove any listing or content that is inaccurate, misleading or breaks these terms.

4. Premium listing subscriptions

Firms can upgrade to a Premium listing. These terms apply to every Premium subscription:

  • Price: CAD $29 per month, or CAD $299 per year. Applicable taxes may be added.
  • Payment: billing is handled securely by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number.
  • Commitment: you are committed for the term you choose. A monthly plan is a one-month commitment and an annual plan is a 12-month commitment. Plans are not cancellable part-way through a term.
  • Automatic renewal: your plan renews automatically at the end of each term, for the same length of term, and your payment method is charged at the start of each new term until you turn off renewal.
  • Turning off renewal: you can turn off renewal at any time before your next renewal date, using the billing link in your Stripe receipt or by emailing info@albertaduilawyers.com. Your Premium listing stays active until the end of the term you have already paid for, and then reverts to a free claimed listing.
  • No refunds for partial terms: payments are not refundable and are not prorated for unused time, except where the law requires otherwise.
  • Price changes: we will give at least 30 days’ notice by email before a price change applies to your next renewal.
  • Failed payments: if a renewal payment fails and is not resolved, Premium features may be paused and the listing reverts to a free claimed listing.

5. Flat advertising fee only

Premium is a flat advertising fee for a directory listing. We do not charge referral fees, take a share of legal fees, or charge per client or per lead. We do not refer clients to particular lawyers, and we do not endorse any lawyer listed on the site.

6. Testimonials and reviews

Testimonials shown on a listing are supplied by the firm and labelled as provided by the firm. By submitting a testimonial, a firm confirms it is genuine and published with the client’s permission. Google reviews are displayed from the firm’s own Google Business Profile.

7. Our content

The site’s design, articles and directory layout belong to Alberta DUI Lawyers. Firms keep ownership of the logos, photos and text they supply, and give us permission to display them on the site while their listing is active.

8. Links to other websites

The site links to lawyers’ websites and other third-party sites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.

9. No warranty and limitation of liability

The site is provided “as is”. We work to keep information accurate and current, but we do not guarantee that it is complete, error-free or up to date. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site or from relying on its content, and our total liability to a subscribing firm is limited to the fees it paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Changes to subscription terms apply from your next renewal.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, USA, except where the law of your province requires otherwise.
